Sculpture as Memoir: Place, Object, Material

5-7 May 2023

As part of their 2023 In Residence programme The Grange Projects is hosting a series of sculpture weekend residencies around the overall theme of Sculpture as Memoir the first of which is entitled Place, Object, Material.

The aim is to bring together a group of artists with a shared sense of purpose spending time making, discussing, and critically engaging with work produced over the course of the residency period. Offering up the possibility to continue to develop the theme in subsequent residencies.

During the weekend, participants will reflect on the potential of interpreting a specific place as a sculptural form. Drawing on associations and relationships between place, object and material participants will use the lens of personal and collective memory to develop sculpture that embodies a personal meaning.

This residency is offered on a Pay What You Can contribution a nominal £50 per night payable on or before the start date of the residency. Further details of costs, accommodation and facilities are here: https://www.thegrangeprojects.org/in-residence-2023
